Clinical Supervision
Experience
My personal supervision experiences included supervision from multiple independent clinical supervisors who held different licenses from ICS, CSACs, LPCs, psychologist, addictionologist, to psychiatrist. I served as a field supervisor to many University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee MSW students while employed as clinical director since 2017-2018. I provided trainings to fellow employees early in my agency career and really enjoy teaching. I started providing clinical supervision in late 2021 and into 2022 after accumulating my 5 years of counseling experience per WI Statute MPSW 12.02(1b).
Populations I have worked with include those diagnosed with: serious and persistent mental illness, psychosis, schizophrenia spectrum disorder, personality disorders (Antisocial, Borderline, and Disassociative), autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and substance use disorders.
Various levels of care I have experience serving include: medical detoxification (ASAM 4), long-term substance use residential (ASAM 3.5 and 3.1), long-term mental health residential, dual diagnosis day/PHP (brief), intensive outpatient (brief), and outpatient.
Approach
My supervision process is greatly impacted by my personal experience with various supervisors in the past including my long term supervisor, Dr. Gregory Jurenec PhD, who is a psychologist of 25+ years of experience. I use an eclectic approach to supervision that draws heavily from the integrated developmental model of clinical supervision and strength-based professional development. I enjoy offering education and guidance with direct communication. I have good faith in the competency of my supervisees and approach issues from a curious and collaborative point of view.
